Minikus Hits A High Note
Bromont, QC – Eleven year old, Dutch Warmblood, Pavarotti, provided Todd Minikus with the high notes during Saturday’s Kubota Cup Grand Prix in Bromont, Quebec. They successfully warded off challenges in a jump off field of 13 finalists, which included Pavarotti's stable pal and second place finisher, Ultimo Van Ter Moude, also ridden by Minikus, effectively blocking the Canadian offense lead by Erynn Ballard.

A little Strain for the Gain

Asselin Wins Kubota Cup Brandon
Brandon, Manitoba—Before a cheering, capacity crowd of 5,000 spectators, Calgary’s Jonathan Asselin and his speedy mare Lolita became the first winners of the 2008 Kubota Cup Canadian Show Jumping Series at the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair. It was a thrilling ride in a jump-off against four other horse/rider combinations but the veteran Asselin was in the driver’s seat going last. His double clear with a blistering jump-off time of 35.486, nearly 4 seconds ahead of second place, made him the clear winner, taking home first place money in the $35,000 Kubota Cup event.

SPORT INCENTIVE FUND LAUNCHED
Brandon, MB—Kubota Canada Ltd. has introduced the Canadian Sport Incentive Fund designed to help support and develop the sport of show jumping in Canada. Both the owners of competitive horses and the riders will benefit through the new system which will pay the entry fee for up to two horses for eligible Canadian riders at each of the 2008 Kubota Cup Canadian Show Jumping Series events across Canada.

Toronto, ON -Millar INC Dominates National Finals

Toronto, ON - Competing in Saturday night's Kubota Cup National Finals, Ian Millar once again set the standard for Show Jumping consistency by taking the win in 2007.

Upset Victory in $60,00 Kubota Cup in Collingwood

COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO A 25-year-old rookie logged her first-ever grand prix win today, defeating some of the hottest riders and horses on the Canadian circuit in the $60,000 Kubota Cup in Collingwood. Carley Campbell-Cooper, of Elora, Ontario, on Rocca jumped-off for the victory against yesterday's $50,000 grand prix winner and eight-time Olympian, Ian Millar on Redefin. Also in the tie-breaker was Alberta native and long-time U.S. resident Darrin Dlin on Catwalk who have returned to Canada for this season. That combination has been the winner of two World Cup Qualifiers in the last six weeks. Amy Millar, of Perth, Ontario, on Costa Rica Z was also in the race, following a second-place finish in yesterday's grand prix and in the heat of a outstanding season. Rounding out the five-way tie-breaker was another rookie, 28-year-old Hyde Moffat, of Brantford, Ontario, on Denver.

HURRICANE SWEEPS OVER WESTERN CANADA
RICHMOND, B.C. - Riding the 13-year-old gelding Hurricane, Gary Brewster started Sunday's final leg of the Kubota Cup western conference in the pressure position, and he took the heat to secure the overall western conference lead. The final outing in the western conference was the $40,000 Kubota Cup Derby at Twin Oaks equestrian centre in Richmond. Despite a sixth-place finish for Brewster and Hurricane, they didn't relinquish their position as the overall best in the west. That assures them a trip to the Kubota Cup National Final in Toronto, in November. Brewster is from West Vancouver and trains at Twin Oaks.

Richmond Hosts Western Conference Wrap-up for Show Jumpers
RICHMOND, B.C. Gary Brewster, of West Vancouver will be trying to prove he's the best in the west when he jumps in the final leg of the Kubota Cup national show jumping series on Sunday, August 12. Brewster trains at Twin Oaks Equestrian Centre in Richmond, host of the Kubota Cup. Partnered with his 13-year-old gelding, Hurricane, Brewster leads the standings in the western conference in a race to earn a berth in the Kubota Cup National Final in Toronto, in November. Thirty-seven-year-old Brewster and Hurricane were also the winners of the last western conference Kubota Cup, in Edmonton in June.

USA Challenges Eastern Canadian Horsepower

BROMONT, QUEBEC A U.S. entry took the first win today in the eastern conference of the Kubota Cup national show jumping series. Schuyler Riley, of New Hope, Pennsylvania claimed the lion's share of the prize money, but isn't eligible for what Canadian entries were chasing.

Today's $60,000 Kubota Cup at the Bromont International show jumping tournament was the first chance for eastern Canadian riders to qualify for the Kubota Cup National Final. The Final is held at Toronto's Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and is the only show jumping competition in the country that guarantees participation from both eastern and western Canada.

John Pearce Leading Man in Halifax
Halifax, NS - October 14, 2006 - The crowded coliseum was literally on the edge of their seats as John Pearce on Archie Bunker galloped to the top of the six horse jump off in Saturday night's Kubota Cup Grand Prix in a time of 30.39.

Pearce rode Urioso into second place only 0.25 seconds slower which secured his overall Eastern Canadian Championship win as the Pearce team blocked Rookie Lauren Hunkin and Orleans. Hunkin, only 23 points behind the leader, lost the final push for the championship with a four fault rail, and with her blazing time of 29.61 seconds certainly helped create some of the greatest excitement seen in Canadian Show Jumping.

Canadian Horse Wins Kubota Cup
Edmonton, AB - Tamie Phillips of Strathmore, AB and her 9-year-old homebred gelding, Lucas took on a top field of show jumpers in the $35,000 Kubota Cup Saturday and came away with the top prize. The challenging course set on the infield of Northlands Park at the Edmonton Northlands Horse Show proved too much for all but two of the 30 entries. The only other challenger in the jump off was Calgary’s Frank Selinger and Cheerio, a 10-year-old Oldenberg gelding. They had a second clear round but came up almost two seconds short on the time, and settled for second place.
