COLLINGWOOD, ON -- The Kubota Cup National Show Jumping Series comes to Collingwood, ON this weekend, the third stop in the Eastern Canada Division.

The $60,000 Kubota Cup Grand Prix at the Kubota Collingwood Classic Horse Show is pivotal for riders looking to move ahead on the Championship leader board. The next stop in Halifax in October will determine who walks away with the Championship, the crystal Kubota Cup and the Kubota RTV900 utility vehicle.

"We are looking forward to going back to where it all started two years ago ... the Collingwood Horse Shows,” says Kubota Canada’s National Marketing Manager, John Gilliland. “This is where Rob Allison (Kubota Regional Sales Manager), Sandra Fraser (Series founder) and I met for the first time to discuss the possibility of starting a coast to coast Canadian Show Jumping Series which has become the Kubota Cup."

In conjunction with this weekend’s Kubota Cup, the 13-part television series, “Along For The Ride”, which will begin airing on Global national television October 2, will be previewed to an audience Saturday evening. The Series’ theme song by the same title will be performed live by Craig McIntyre, who is releasing his self titled CD in Eastern Canada this weekend. He will be performing on site at various times during the weekend.

On Saturday some of Canada’s top show jumping riders including “Captain Canada” Ian Millar will be at an autograph session where fans can meet them and receive a free poster. Each autograph then gives them free admission to the show on Sunday.

The Kubota Collingwood Classic is at Fisher Field at the foot of the Blue Mountains. There are food concessions, “The Walk” trade fair, a magician, face painting, and lots to see for the whole family.

Weekend Events:
Craig McIntyre performance – Saturday, 11:00am – “The Walk” trade show
