Ottawa, Ontario (October 29, 2006) - From writer and director John Dolin (“Mad Dog Vachon: Wrestling with the Past”, “The Call” & “Animal Magnetism”) comes the lifestyles series Along for the Ride: The Complete First Season, arriving on DVD this October. Set on the Kubota Cup Canadian Show Jumping Series and starring an ensemble of the country’s top Grand Prix show jumpers including Captain Canada Ian Millar, the three-disc boxed set features all 13 episodes from the series' action-packed first season. The DVD will be priced at $ 57.99. ALONG FOR THE RIDE made its debut on GLOBAL TV October 2005 and ran for 13 episodes in its first season. In total, thirty nine riders were followed throughout the country as they competed for prize money and points to qualify them for the Kubota Cup National Finals at the Royal in Toronto in Fall 2005. Filmed over eight months, the action and drama was captured by a skeletal four man film crew who put a spotlight on the obstacles of self, venue, and sport facing both horse and rider while tracking their unfolding stories and results. Rookies, veterans and Olympians unveiled their lives in front of the cameras and helped shed an insider’s light on the competitive world of this unique Canadian sport. Produced by Generator Productions and presented by Dark Horse Films, this 13 part series is an informative and entertaining fast paced show, covering the action in eight cities coast to coast across Canada with first person stories told ‘straight from the horse’s mouth’.
