OTTAWA, ON – February 26, 2007 - Canadian Show Jumping Series Inc. is proud to announce that Kubota Canada Ltd., has been named as a top three finalist for the National Initiative Support Award representing Corporate Excellence at the 34th Annual Canadian Sport Awards. The annual True Sports Foundation presentation, which recognizes achievement in Canadian sport, will take place in Winnipeg on Friday, March 23rd, 2007 and will kick off a community-oriented celebration of sporting excellence presented by Investors Group and co-hosted by event partners Sport Manitoba, the University of Manitoba and Destination Winnipeg. These awards are a premier event honouring outstanding achievements of Canada’s best leaders and amateur athletes
The Corporate Excellence Award is presented to recognize and celebrate corporations who provided outstanding support to Canadian Sport in 2006.
Kubota Canada currently participates as the title sponsor for a national tour newly formed in 2005 and assists in promoting and developing the sport of Equestrian Show Jumping and the equestrian athlete. Their involvement in this comprehensive program was designed to engage the country coast to coast, from Richmond, British Columbia through to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Canadian athletes have been coping with inadequate development opportunities over the past fifteen years and with restricted availability to training and competition facilities due to limited support funds from the corporate sector, Kubota Canada’s sponsorship funding has been key to assisting this chosen sport to reach the award podiums around the world.
Because of sponsors such as Kubota Canada, hope and excitement is again taking shape in the hearts of equestrian athletes and recent international teams representing Canada are achieving current success.
Kubota Canada’s interest in Canadian sports led its commitment to equestrian show jumping, which underlines its corporate commitment to and promotion of Canadian athletes. In recent years, Kubota was a primary supporter of Canadian Men’s Curling and continues today with sponsorship in various regional sport programs which support young and developing athletes by the extensive co-op assistance through their dealer network.
