Ottawa, On – May 28, 2007 – There is a horse race of a different kind about to take place this week at the Edmonton Northland Park. Speed and precision will be taking over the infield during the second qualifier for the Kubota Cup Canadian Show Jumping Series western division, Saturday June 2nd at 3:00 pm.

The Kubota Cup Canadian Show Jumping Series comprises of two conferences in Canada. The western qualifier kicked off at the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, March 31 with Albert Kley winning the $75,000 ATCO-KUBOTA CUP Centennial Grand Prix and Gary Brewster closing out the evening in second on his speedster, Hurricane.

Albert Kley riding Daiquiri SM and Gary Brewster (BC) will have their hands full with the ladies of show jumping Karen Cudmore, (Omaha NE), Carla Diewart (AB) and defending Western Canadian Champion Tamie Phillips (Strathmore, AB), and others who are threatening the leader board in the race to the Kubota Cup Western Canadian Championships, which plays out in Richmond, BC this coming August 12th.

Keeping an eye on the western action will be the riders participating in the Eastern Conference, which starts late in the season July 28th in Bromont, Quebec. The top five point qualifiers will be pitted against the top five western results in a hard riding challenge as the two regions come together for the first time in the Kubota Cup National Finals hosted in Toronto, ON November 3rd for the final $70,000 Grand Prix of the Series.
